Kiwanis Club of Temecula Valley
Temecula, CA – Jim Rochford, the President of Kiwanis International for 2017-2018, sent out a message to all Kiwanis Clubs throughout the globe thanking all members for being a part of, in his words, “The greatest service organization in the world.” In his message, Rochford asked the members to “Lead by example and concentrate on improving the membership of your club.”
This important message was not lost on Tom Teagle, President of the Kiwanis Club of Temecula Valley, since one of his major goals as the leader of this high-profile service club is to double the size of its membership roster within 18 to 24 months.
“It was exciting to read President Rochford’s message because it mirrored our own sentiments within the leadership of our club,” said Teagle. “As Rochford stated, by increasing the membership of all Kiwanis Clubs we can dramatically increase the impact of our service to local communities.”
At the heart of Rochford’s message was that kids need Kiwanis. He stressed that if Kiwanis International is to continue making a difference in the communities they serve and improve the lives of children, club memberships must increase across the board.
“Our club is definitely on board with this directive and we are taking aggressive steps to proactively recruit new members to the Kiwanis Club of Temecula Valley,” said Teagle. “We are proud of our accomplishments over the past two-plus decades, and are committed to doing even more to serve our cherished community here in the greater Temecula Valley.”
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The Kiwanis Club of Temecula Valley is focused on serving the needs of their community with emphasis on children, but is also involved in projects that serve others. For example, they sponsor eleven area Key Clubs at local high schools, give a number of scholarships each year to high school graduates, support the Boys and Girls Clubs, the local food bank, partner with the city and chamber of commerce on a variety of events, host two mobile blood drives each year, and provide support to other local charitable organizations, among other community service oriented programs.
